MIX Fest International LGBT Film and Arts Festival
There is a great event happening this weekend here in Atlanta. It’s the 1st (and definitely not last) LGBT Film Festival that highlights People of Color in Film, Music, The Arts and More.
Two highlights include the premiere of The DL Chronicles newest episode “Thomas” and the showing of the documentary of porn star Kevin “Venom” Mines on Saturday. Most events will be held at Morehouse College.
And I’ll be the Resident DJ for the whole weekend. 🙂
You can get more information at the website – www.mixfestatl.com . Spread the word!!!

Movie of the Month – Black Is…Black Aint
“Black Is, Black Ain’t” is the last film by the late Marlon Riggs. He is famous for his wildly popular, yet controversial, documentary – “Tongues Untied“. This film chronicles the inner battle with African Americans and their identity in this world. It has some of African American’s leading thinkers, such as Angela Davis, Dr. Cornel West and more lending their thoughts on African Americans and their struggle for self love, etc!
"Slow" by Darius Clark Monroe
Here is an intense 13 min film short by filmmaker Darius Clark Monroe about online hookups. I thought it was excellent and the actors were great. I would love to hear your comments about this film short.
